Platinum Trophy List: #1 - 10

I have been earning trophies for many years and ended up with five accounts. This is my last and greatest account and so I decided to create a checklist of all of the platinum trophies I have ever earned. It will be an ongoing list until (a) I grow too old to hold a controller or (b) I feel like there is no more point to earning platinum trophies(like when Pokemon takes over the world ^_^).

So here is the first of my many lists, the first ten platinum trophies I have earned on my latest account. I will also note which of my past accounts have the game on the list and whether they have the 100%/platinum or not. My accounts are:
  1. PrinnyBoy238 (my very first account back when I got my first PS3, not serious at all - named after Disgaea's Prinny mascot, not even on my PS4 and retired this account after I got my PS4)
  2. Maphantom (named after the Maplestory character, Phantom the dashing thief, this was when I started to take trophy hunting seriously, not on my PS4 anymore)
  3. DetectiveCJ (name comes from my love for mystery novels; my first real serious account and still on my PS4)
  4. NebbyLunala (name comes from the Pokemon Lunala and Nebby, Lillie's name for the Pokemon Cosmog; my first attempt to get a 100% complete trophy cabinet and still on my PS4)
  5. MidnightCJ (my current account, named after Midnight Louie, a fictional detective cat)

Platinum #1: Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
  • First Trophy: Passive Observer (April 11, 2017)
  • Platinum: April 12, 2017
  • Rarity: Uncommon
  • Older accounts that have this: NebbyLunala(platinum)
I bought this when I was NebbyLunala and because StayPationt Trophies, which is now in permanent deep freeze because the channel owner decided to move on with life, has a very simple trophy guide for this game. I used his guide for each time I platinumed the game. The first time I played with English voices and the story is really deep. You have to do two playthroughs because one trophy requires you to focus on one story and another requires you to finish 100%.

You find yourself at a town in Great Britain which has mysteriously become a ghost town and you have to piece together why everyone suddenly up and vanished. Strange lights are your guides and replay events that happened in the town and you follow the story of five residents and a scientist called Kate who was communicating with extra-terrestrial life of some sort. At least, that's what you get from the recorded messages and light infused recollections. You see no faces, just hear voices, and your imagination does the rest. What you learn will probably disturb you but in the end...

Platinum #2: N.E.R.O. (4/13/2017)
  • First Trophy: My First Memento (April 13, 2017)
  • Platinum: April 13, 2017
  • Rarity: Common
  • Other accounts that have it: NebbyLunala(platinum)
Another "show don't talk" walking simulator, this time the only voice you hear is the narrator when you solve one of the myriad of puzzles. You control this lad whose face and body are covered so you can't see any features. You're later joined by another taller figure. There is a lot of esoteric symbols here and mind-bending puzzles, so I followed another guide by StayPationt Trophies to get through it and find all of the collectibles as you travel the strange weird environments populated by giant bugs and jellyfish and creepy abandoned buildings and even a wasteland. The only one trophy which can be a problem is Gnocchi Thursday, since the game recognizes the date and you need to either play on an exact Thursday when you reach the spot you need to earn the trophy or set your PS4 clock to one.

Platinum #3: Deponia
  • First Trophy: Kindergarten (April 14, 2017)
  • Platinum: April 14, 2017
  • Rarity: Common
  • Other accounts that have it: None
This is a port of the first of a four-part PC computer adventure game series involving a dystopia where you are living in the slums under the big city in the sky which is populated by the wealthy and your character, Rufus, is trying to get to that beautiful city by any means necessary and runs into a resident of the city which may be his big break... or not!

The graphics and style remind me of the old PC gaming days like King's Quest VI and whatnot. It's a really good game. And yes, StayPationt Trophies has a guide for this game which I followed as well.

Platinum #4: Nubla
  • First Trophy: Whispers in the dark (April 15, 2017)
  • Platinum: April 15, 2017
  • Rarity: Common
  • Other accounts with this: NebbyLunala(platinum)
Yes, the rarity is almost 100% - almost everyone has platinumed this game. That's because this is a school project for a university so it's not meant to be difficult; you play a kid who's trapped in a museum by cosmic forces and need to work with the kids in the paintings to free their friend, the karmic entity known in the title. The trophies are easy to earn - all they are here are story-related trophies(which involve solving simple puzzles) and picking up the collectibles. The one trick is that one collectible is impossible to get without a specific kid - you can choose any of the painting kids and they have unique abilities, but only one can reach a specific collectible in one of the rooms.

It's probably the easiest game next to the games I shamefully regret as my 17th and 18th platinum.

Platinum #5: Clockwork Tales - Of Glass and Ink
  • First Trophy: First of Many (April 15, 2017)
  • Platinum: April 15, 2017
  • Rarity: Common
  • Other accounts that have it: DetectiveCJ(platinum), NebbyLunala(platinum)
This is the first of the games published by Artifex Mundi, a name that you will hear a lot in this list. I started a campaign to get more of their titles on the PS4 and they delivered, but this was my first dive into their world. Set in a steampunk 19th-century town, your character(a woman - all games in this group have female main characters) visits her uncle on a letter he sent her, only to be witness to his kidnapping by the local despot. And now she has to rescue him with the help of his mechanical bird, Matthew. ^_^

There are collectibles and trophies for solving puzzles quickly and with few mistakes. Expect to see these as recurring themes in the games. However, if you follow a guide, you should be able to get every trophy with minimal frustration.

Platinum #6: HITMAN GO - Definitive Edition
  • First Trophy: Two For One (April 16, 2017)
  • Platinum: April 16, 2017
  • Rarity: Common
  • Other accounts which have it: DetectiveCJ

Platinum #7: Lara Croft GO
  • First Trophy: Archaeologist (April 16, 2017)
  • Platinum: April 16, 2017
  • Rarity: Common
  • Other accounts which have it: DetectiveCJ, NebbyLunala
Ah, these two games. The GO series was my first Square-Enix entries, which is very shameful. They are really easy to complete, you just need a guide for the puzzles and then some miscellaneous trophies. HITMAN GO requires you to complete every puzzle board without using the hints but Lara Croft GO lets you use the hint system freely, which basically hand-holds you through the puzzles. The latter game has collectibles in jars which are easily missed, though, and there are a couple of miscellaneous trophies as well, but follow a trophy guide and you will get the platinum for these two games in one day, I promise. I liked the animated nature of Lara Croft GO more.

Platinum #8: The Little Acre
  • First Trophy: Welcome to the Little Acre (April 16, 2017)
  • Platinum: April 16, 2017
  • Rarity: Common
  • Other accounts with this game: NebbyLunala(platinum)
This is a very cute point-and-click adventure with a short story that involves a man getting stuck in another dimension and his daughter being left behind. I won't spoil the plot but it is cel-shaded in the Disney style and has simplistic puzzles. The only two trophies that give trouble are two involving triggering an action in a short time, which is very hard - you have to click on something right away and with the way the game's inventory system works it can be very easy to lose these trophies. There's also a trophy requiring to solve a puzzle only one time but I followed a guide online (by StayPationt, again) and didn't screw up. I haven't heard of any similar games to this in the past months but hopefully the creators can whip up another short adventure. ^_^

I got all of the above trophies while pet-sitting at my parents' place.

Platinum #9: Day of the Tentacle Remastered
  • First Trophy: Most Annoying Guest Ever (April 17, 2017)
  • Platinum: April 17, 2017
  • Rarity: Common
  • Other accounts with this game: NebbyLunala(platinum)
Most of the games on this first list were on my last account, which shows that I was willing to go through the games a second time. There is another point-and-click remaster later on.

I have played a bit of Maniac Mansion in my youth (and beat it a few times) but never touched the sequel to the game due to the mention of toilet humor. However, the toilet humor is implicit and basically the game centers around one of the characters from Maniac Mansion(Purple Tentacle) getting some mutant powers thanks to toxic waste and trying to conquer the world so Dr. Fred(his creator) sends some kids to travel through time to stop him and messes up and you have to fix the whole dang mess. XD

StayPationt has a guide for this too, and listening to the developer's commentary was hilarious.

Platinum #10 - LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 (PS4)
  • First Trophy: Watch Out! (April 20, 2017)
  • Platinum: April 21, 2017
  • Rarity: Uncommon
  • Other accounts which have this game: NebbyLunala(platinum)
Yes, PS4. LEGO did a clever thing and re-released both LEGO Harry Potter games from the PS3 as HD remakes on the PS4 in a one-disc collection. I loved playing these games as I enjoyed JK Rowling's books about the Boy Who Lived (and even purchased the paperbacks of the first two stories again) during my last ten years. These games are based on the movies, though, which can be a bit of a bother but it's a minor nitpick. (DetectiveCJ has this game platinumed but it's the PS3 version, not the legacy collection, which I bought from PSN for a song during one of their sales.)

LEGO Games are a bit longer to platinum - you need to go through all of the levels in Story Mode (which restricts you to certain characters) and then have to unlock certain characters to use in Free Play because they have abilities that open up places you couldn't visit in Story Mode, and then you have to grind for the currency, studs, and buy everything to get 100%. The PS3 version of this game had a glitch that locked you out of a room but it seems they fixed that glitch in the remake. The tricky trophy is Quick Quidditch which requires you to do a speedrun of one of the levels but it's not that difficult to do if you just bum rush to the end doing the minimum you need to do.

IF you are a Harry Potter fan, you owe it to yourself to check the LEGO minifig versions of those beloved and hated characters and relive the first four books LEGO style. ;)
